Now I'm no expert on hitting..

...this doesn't seem clean to me. I can't really get into detail because my obvious bias will shine through, but I've never seen someone need to go that low on a hip check. I'm just saying.

Update: Scuderi did not receive a suspension on this hit, I could've telegraphed that, I knew nothing was going to be done other then a slap on the wrist, Scuds did receive a fine for the hit though.

Chimera seems to be on the wrong end of a lot of these. Shane Doan put him into the boards something fierce in the Coyotes home opener. Perfectly legal hit, and Chimera came up grabbing Doan like he wanted a piece of him. But nothing came of it.

Don't muffle your bias. Embrace it and let loose it's wings. With enough work, we can become as credible an opinion/blog source as ESPN. Or Fox News.

It just angers me a little bit that Scuderi will not get anything more than a slap on the wrist. You can make arguments about Mike Richards' hit on David Booth being dirty but I think the NHL got that one right. The Richards hit was hard, true but the Richards hit wouldn't have happened if David Booth kept his head up while he was skating. I hate the fact that if you were a penguin last year you'll probably recieve immunity until at least next season, but that's just my two cents as a guy who hates the way the penguins play the game.

The Pens do seem to have a slew of those d'bag types like Guerin and Kunitz.

Kunitz is a bum. I had respect for Guerin until he went to Pittsburgh and all of a sudden became Sisney's bodyguard. Maybe it's old school logic, a hockey player should be able to defend himself, especially if said player wants to talk as much as sidney crosby

Kunitz with his neck-check on Varlamov and Brandon Dubinsky with his back-check on Mike Green in last year's Cup 'offs showed their true colors - Douchebag Pink. They'll get theirs eventually, Mitchell-on-Toews style.

Sorry, but that was a dirty hit by Scuderi, I don't care what they say. When these guys' heads are vulnerable like that? And it was too low for a hip check. And I do have a bias. I'm anti-Pens. ;) Even though he's with the Kings now, still a dirty check. And Chimera could've been much worse off with that check. Scuderi got lucky.
